The Generating Arkansas Jobs Act (GAJA) was passed by the Arkansas General Assembly in 2025 as Act 373. The law was designed to support new energy infrastructure and economic development by changing how utilities can recover the costs of certain generation and transmission investments. One significant change: utilities can now charge customers for qualifying projects while they are still under construction, rather than waiting until those facilities are completed and serving customers.
