The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association (AAEA) and its education-focused affiliate, the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation (AAEF), offer internships designed to provide students or job seekers with meaningful exposure to Arkansas’s advanced energy industry.

What You’ll Do
As an intern, you’ll be an integral part of our small, fast-paced team. Responsibilities may include:
Research & policy analysis
Communications and marketing support
Event planning and logistics
Data entry and database management
Administrative tasks
Team collaboration
Special project (self-designed and executed)
Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Gain

Mentorship: Two 1:1 coaching sessions with AAEF’s Director of Workforce Development
Professional Development: Two progress check-ins with AAE staff
Networking: At least one opportunity to connect with leaders in Arkansas’s advanced energy community, usually more.
Flexible Scheduling: Hybrid/remote work and independence to set your own hours (with some daytime availability)
What We’re Looking For
Required:
At least 18 years old
Proficient in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Completed a minimum of 1 year of college (24 credits), 2 years of relevant work, or equivalent experience
Interest in at least one of the following:
Public policy, legal, or regulatory issues
Advanced energy or sustainability
Commitment to complete the internship for credit or programmatic requirement
Accountability partner (e.g., advisor or instructor) and documentation for school/program needs
Preferred:
Desire to work in Arkansas long-term
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Experience in research, data analysis, marketing, or communications
Proactive, adaptable, curious, and self-motivated

Format
Internships may be extended but do not guarantee employment.
Interns work primarily remotely with occasional in-person obligations at our downtown Little Rock office (near the Capitol).
Some evening events or additional local travel may be required.
Must provide your own transportation, but only transportation to the office is required.
Flexible hours, but at least half of your work must take place during standard business hours (M–F, 8am–5pm).
All interns must sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Internship MOU.
