Arkansas Advanced Energy welcomes Joel DiPippa as Director of Legal Affairs
Arkansas Advanced Energy Association (AAEA) announced today the hiring of Joel DiPippa as the organization’s Director of Legal Affairs.
“I am excited to join the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association to champion a diverse and sustainable energy future for all of Arkansas," DiPippa said. "The opportunity to make a real difference in peoples’ lives does not come along often and I look forward to advocating for new and innovative energy solutions which can support our increasing energy use and provide new economic opportunities.”
In this role, DiPippa provides regulatory, legislative, and general legal support to AAEA with a strong emphasis on utility regulation and Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) proceedings. Though AAEA has coordinated with external counsel in the past, this is the first time in the organization’s history to have an in-house legal counsel - a monumental added value for its association members.
Most recently, DiPippa served for 17 years in the Office of Revenue Legal Counsel at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. He has also served as Assistant Attorney General in the Opinions Division of the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office and clerked at the Arkansas Supreme Court. DiPippa graduated from Hendrix College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Psychology in 2000 and from the UALR Bowen School of Law with Honors in 2003.
DiPippa is currently an adjunct professor of law at the UALR Bowen School of Law, where he has taught Cyber Law and Moot Court Competition for twenty years. He is a former member of the Arkansas Bar Association House of Delegates, a graduate of the Arkansas Bar Association Leadership Academy, and Government Practice Attorney of the Year.
